NFL Betting Plays for Week 2

I like to start out evaluating each week’s slate of games on about Wednesday, just to give the lines a little time to move and things to settle. This week I’m waiting a little longer, posting on Friday. Let’s get into the games I like heading into Week 2.

Commanders vs. Lions

I really like this spot for the Commanders. Coming off their week 1 win against the Jaguars, confidence should be at an all time high. The Lions are sporting a below average total defense, which should allow Carson Wentz and his weapons to run wild (looking at you, Jahan Dotson).

Although it’s tough to go and win outright on the road, I like the Commanders moneyline here. The books have deflated the line a little, it’s hovering around +105, but in my opinion it is still a good buy.

Ravens vs. Dolphins

I hear all the Lamar Jackson haters out there but I’m telling them it’s time for him to break this season open. I love the time slot here, this line shouldn’t get a lot of action from the public as it is a 1 PM EST kickoff.

While I like the re-tooled offense for the Dolphins, I don’t like their quarterback. In a game where quarterback is the most important position on the field, the Ravens clearly have a huge edge here. I fully expect Lamar Jackson to have a 3 touchdown day and the Ravens to cover the -3.5.

Colts vs. Jaguars

The narrative here is that the Colts always lose to the Jags at the Jags. I think this team is tired of hearing about last year’s last-game loss to the worst team in the league and wants to avenge that.

The Colts have a superior QB, superior defense, superior skill guys, everything. There is no excuse for the Colts to not cover the -3.5 here. I think the books are trying to push bettors away from the Colts by placing that half point hook on this line, but I can see right through that and I love this matchup.

I’ve got you covered (just like the Colts and Ravens will) with all the fantasy sports and betting coverage you need. Follow me on Twitter @aafntsysports!
